Rachel graduated with an MA in Sequential Design/ Illustration in 2013 following an early training in Textile Art. She has been making automata, figurative sculptures and jewellery inspired by folklore and fairy tales for almost 20 years. Diverse past clients include many high profile designers and performers.
‘I began making collectors toys from a studio at Artsway (in the New Forest) shortly after graduating in Textile Art from Winchester. I exhibit regularly and my work is held by private collections in this country and abroad. Alongside working at leading specialist Arts Institutions, I make automata to public and private commission.’
As well as being held in numerous private collections, Rachel’s work is widely exhibited in galleries across the UK. She has contributed to events at The Design Museum and Automates Galeries, Brussels. Past media coverage includes Crafts, Elle & Weekend Telegraph. In 2017 she was awarded the Peer Prize by fellow makers at Made London, most recently she has designed and made exclusive collections for 'the ‘Created for Charleston’ range at the Bloomsbury home of Art & Ideas.
